Kim Baich has been with DSACO since March of 2014. As Program Manager of Public Policy & Medical Outreach Kim is responsible for interfacing with the medical community by providing current and up to date resources about Down syndrome so that families receive the best medical care possible. From diagnosis throughout adulthood DSACO has resources available at each stage of life.
In addition, Kim is responsible for DSACO’s public policy initiatives, which includes advocating on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome and all disabilities to help pave the way for a better future. From grassroots efforts to work at the local, state and national level, DSACO is a key stakeholder in the advocacy community.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Kim has worked in the community as a social worker for Franklin County Children’s Services and a teacher for Columbus Public Schools and Olentangy Local Schools. As a founding member of the Columbus Buddy Walk, Kim has a passion for advocacy and improving the lives of others. She is an active member on several committees that strive to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Kim lives in Dublin with her husband Jim and her son Dawson who has Down syndrome. She has two adult children, Anna and Mason who both live in Columbus. Besides spending time with family and friends, Kim enjoys traveling, entertaining, golfing, reading and putting together puzzles.
