Helping Employers

While DSACO does not provide direct employment support services, we want to do everything we can to help adults with Down syndrome discover a lifetime of opportunities — including landing their dream job! We live this vision by having people with Down syndrome as paid staff members, but we want to help answer employers’ questions and support you and your business in any way we can so that you will join us in this effort.

Enriching Results

We believe that your business will be better, your team will be happier, and you will earn more business by hiring a person with Down syndrome or another developmental disability. But don’t take our word for it; there is solid data out there you can see for yourself! Visit www.employmentfirstohio.org to learn more.

  • 90% of individuals with disabilities performed equal to or better than non-disabled individuals
  • 42% of people with disabilities would like a job in the community but 65% attended only a day program or workshop

I have hired two great associates so far. Thanks for helping us with the connections and information we needed to make it happen!

— Joe, Director at MSC Industrial Supply Co.

We Want You to Know

DSACO does not contract with any government entity to provide employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and does not receive any financial benefit from this initiative. It is only through the generosity of individual donors, corporations, and grants that DSACO is able to provide quality programs and services for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community.
