DSACO Post-Secondary Scholarship Program has awarded more than $200,000 since it’s inception in 2004.
Thanks to the generous support of The GLOW Foundation, DSACO will again be offering college scholarships to assist siblings, parents, cousins, or other relatives of people with Down syndrome who are planning to pursue careers in which they will positively impact the lives of people with Down syndrome. People with Down syndrome who are enrolled in a college program are eligible and strongly encouraged to apply!
The scholarship funds may be used to pay for incurred education expenses such as coursework, tuition, or materials purchased for academic needs (PC, books, etc.). The award can be used for any expense approved by the institution.
Once applications have been received by DSACO, they are made anonymous and sent to the Post-Secondary Scholarship committee for scoring. Applications are made anonymous so that any room for bias is eliminated.
Post-Secondary Scholarship Committee members are comprised of college professors, leaders in the disability community and supporters from the GLOW Foundation.
A rating will be given by each committee member, and awards will be based upon the highest cumulative ratings. A rating standard has been developed by the scholarship committee prior to the screening of all applications.
The 2025 scholarship cycle has closed. All applicants were notified on Monday, March 4th of their award status. Application information for the 2026 scholarship will be released on Monday, November 3rd.
