Summer Learning Academy

Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio / Summer Learning Academy

The DSACO Summer Learning Academy is designed to help children maintain or improve upon the skills they have worked so hard to gain throughout the school year.

Summer learning loss is a significant concern for all learners, and especially for those with special educational needs. Studies have shown that students learn best when instruction
is continuous*. The goals of the Summer Learning Academies are to mitigate summer learning loss, improve math and reading skills, and improve social development.

Program Format

Each Summer Learning Academy classroom will provide 60 hours of academic instruction over 5 weeks with the focus of addressing 2 IEP goals for each student (Math & Literacy).

  • 4 days per week | Monday – Thursday
