A healthy lifestyle is more than eating right or getting exercise. It’s about knowing who you are and what you need to be your “best” person. Living Happy & Healthy will focus on three key areas: fitness and nutrition, healthy relationships, and mental and emotional well being. It is designed to help people with disabilities develop confidence and skills to stay on a journey towards a healthy and happy lifestyle.
This involves learning about the importance of self care, connection to community, building and keeping healthy relationships, and learning how to stay mentally and emotionally healthy. Living Happy & Healthy is a fun and educational way for teens and adults to try new experiences and start on a path to better overall health.
This program is for teens and adults. It includes three, half day trainings followed by six community outings. These outings will vary in location and will last approximately 2-3 hours. Participants and their interests will play a role in determining the activities. Locations and times will be established asap. The program is built to be fun while discovering new activities, making new friends and sharing stories of success.
We will be limited in the number of participants we can accept into this program.
